Whether it’s an outdated heirloom you’d like to modernise or a sentimental piece ready for a fresh chapter, whatever your vision, we’ll bring it to life.
How redesigning Jewellery works
The first thing to do is to speak to us about the piece of jewellery you’d like altering. Sometimes customers will have an idea of what they want, and sometimes not. We’ve helped 100’s of customers to create their vision using our knowledge within the industry, and can easily show you what works best. As we have a large network of second hand and pre owned jewellery in the shop, we can often pull out pieces to give you some inspiration.
Once you’re happy with the idea, our master jewellery designers will go away and create visual concepts for your new piece of jewellery, collaborating with you at every stage, from initial sketches to the final technical drawings. If it is a particularly complex piece, or even if you just want to see it before it’s made, we can use CAD (computer aided design) software to create a stunning 3D image of your new piece of jewellery before it’s made. Once you’re happy, our master jewellers will create the ring in our Hatton Garden workshop.
Here are some of our most recent commissions, from left to right, a Intricate Vintage Diamond Bezel Solitaire Ring, a Modern Interchangeable Emerald and Diamond Jacket Pendant and a Vintage Original Old Cut Diamond Grain Cluster Ring. As we purchase many items of pre-owned jewellery, we find not all of these are suitable for resale, as they are sometimes too worn, or a trend that is no longer desirable. Old cut Diamonds are particularly fantastic to use in a new design, keeping a beautiful piece of history with its unique cut and individual finish to the stone, then creating a new piece of jewellery for it to be set into.
