Krista's Experience & Qualifications
I began my career in jewellery working at an e-commerce antiques business specialising in precious metals and antique jewellery. Starting in the appraisal and sales department, I quickly progressed to managing a sales team and developing expertise as an e-commerce and communications specialist. Since then, I have worked across a variety of businesses, including a high-end luxury pawnbroker, where I specialised in apprising named and designer pieces.
My academic background includes a BA(Hons) in politics and philosophy from the University of Leeds, and, more recently, a foundation in Gemmological Studies from Gem-A, deepening my understanding of gemstones used in jewellery.
Where did your journey into jewellery begin?
I think my passion for jewellery stems from a lifelong interest in personal style and vintage design. As a history enthusiast, I am especially drawn to antique pieces, exploring their cultural significance and stories they tell. I started collecting antique items from a young age, regularly visiting auctions and car boots fairs and have built a personal collection reflecting my combined interests in fashion and history.
What do you specialise in?
With a varied background, I mainly specialise in appraising precious metals and named pieces. In addition, I have strong experience in communication, customer service and building brand awareness within luxury and e-commerce environments.
Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery?
Antique jewellery has always been my greatest passion, especially pieces from the Art Deco and Victorian eras. I’m drawn to anything with a story to tell, and I love delving into the history behind different trends and designs. I have a particular fascination with mourning jewellery and coloured gemstones, rubies being my all-time favourite. At the moment, my most treasured piece is from our antique jewellery collection: an absolutely stunning 6.50ct Old European Cut Diamond Coronet Cluster ring.
Tell us something about yourself.
Outside of work, I am a dedicated Brentford FC supporter and enjoy attending live matches. I am also passionate about music and love going to gigs. Travelling is another big interest of mine, always wanting to explore new cultures and cuisines!
